The fingers are extended and close against one another, and the thumb is bent.

The thumb is bent against the base of the forefinger and the palm and fingers are extended.

When Brahma, the Creator, went to Parabrahma, as he saluted him with the cry of "Victory ! " he held his hand like a flag, since then it has been called the " flag hand ".

It is the first of all hand gestures,
it originates from Brahma,
its colour is white,

its sage is Shiva,
its estate is Brahmana,
its patron deity is Para-brahma.


This Mudra is the most versatile of all Mudras and has many meanings and usages.
