Meaning: When three fingers are spread out, the little finger is lifted up and the thumb is kept within the palm, it is the Chatura hasta.

Explanation

Stretch all the fingers, hold the little finger at an angle to the other fingers and fold the thumb and touch the bottom of the ring finger.

It is the first of all hand gestures,
it originates from Brahma,
its colour is white,

its sage is Shiva,
its estate is Brahmana,
its patron deity is Para-brahma.


This Mudra is the most versatile of all Mudras and has many meanings and usages.
