The ChronoMeaning of the Lasya Dance of Shiva

The dance called Lasya marks entering of the New Moon into the asterism Krittika on the day of vernal equinox at the beginning of a new Kala-Cakra or Cycle of Time known to the Greeks as Exeligmos. It is accompanied with singing and instrumental music and is a gentle form of expression love by means of various gesticulations and attitudes.

It is also known as Aananda Tandavam or Dance of Bliss. It is associated with the creation of the new world or New Year after its total destruction at the end of precedent Year or winter solstice.
